IT problems become IT blessings



Bring Your Own Device was once viewed as a Very Bad Thing for in-house IT teams, because it meant they no longer held dominion over either the procurement or the support of the tech used by the business. In reality, BYOD has equipped the business with powerful IT that is supported by someone else and doesn't need to be refreshed as the staff themselves are happy to replace it themselves.

Similarly, automation and technology was supposed to spell the end of personalised customer service and make the IT support analyst role redundant. In reality, technology is helping businesses become more customer centric. And the biggest transformation of all? The IT support role is no longer an entry level job. Thanks to automation and the changing culture of support, IT support is a highly regarded and highly rewarded business-critical role.
